Women on the Supreme Court

Women now constitute a majority in Kenya's magistracy and registrar cadre, but remain below parity among Superior Court judges. In FY2024/25, women accounted for 87 of 202 judges (43.1%), 324 of approximately 566 magistrates (57%), and 69% of registrars. At the higher judicial levels, the largest gender gap among judges was in the Court of Appeal, where women accounted for only 9 of 28 judges (32.1%).
